Meredith Goodwin, MD, FAAFP
Since 1990, Dr. Goodwin has been a practicing Family Physician. Dr. Goodwin earned her bachelor’s degree in biology with honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and finished her residency in family medicine at UC Los Angeles associated institutions.
Dr. Goodwin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Board Certified Family Physician by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Goodwin is also a reservist in the United States Air Force, overseeing three squadrons of 450 medical personnel. Dr. Goodwin is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and the Co-Course Director for the first and second year Medical Skills courses.
She is the co-director of the self-directed scholarly project (SDSSP) research course for M1 and M2 students at CNUCOM, in addition to directing the Office of Research. She also serves as a college master for M2 students. In Phase A of the curriculum, she contributes to medical skills workshops and endocrine-related lectures.
The focus of Dr. Goodwin’s research is on medical education. She set up a virtual hospital in a virtual community, allowing students to keep a continuity clinic with standardized patients across time.
